Parent Plus Loan Refinance
« on: January 22, 2017, 05:46:31 PM »
While married, my husband and I paid for some of child's college tuition with a Parent Plus loan.  It was a joint decision but I am the only one who signed the loan documents.  We are going through a divorce - not in a community property state.  We are splitting the debt.  Can we each refinance our share using a private student loan refinance program?

Thank you

Yes, that is an option, but you're not likely to be able to do it with one of the many online lenders. You're both going to need to find a local credit union or bank that would be willing to work with you to complete it.
