So originally I had my student loans with Great Lakes and I defaulted on all the loans I had with them. After I got my act together, I got my loans out of default and they are now with Nelnet in good standing. The problem I having is that on my credit report Great Lakes still shows up negatively. It is reporting that the loans were late and that the account had been transferred to another office. None of that information is incorrect but I'm wondering if there is a way for this negative item to be removed since my loans are now reporting as current and in good standing. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

Did you consolidate or rehabilitate your loans? Loan rehabilitation removes the default, consolidation does not.
